All Aboard! North Texas Has the Hottest Tickets to All-Access Fun

Looking for a little adventure this month? Leave no paw behind, and join thousands of others and their furry companions at an annual dog parade. Celebrate the Chinese New Year. Or travel to yesteryear at a free railroad museum.

  • Cleburne: Railroad Museum – History awaits you at this free museum, which includes railroad artifacts and miniature trains. It’s located on the same block as the Layland Museum of History, making it convenient to visit both. Click here to learn more.
  • McKinney: Krewe of Barkus Dog Parade – Dress up your four-legged friend and head to Historic Downtown McKinney for an afternoon of Mardi Gras fun on Feb. 11. The parade is patterned after the legendary Mystic Krewe of Barkus in New Orleans, which was established to help abused and abandoned canines. In past years, more than 250 dogs participated in the parade alongside 4,500 plus spectators in awe of the costumes, creatures and creativity. Learn more now.
  • Carrollton: Chinese New Year Celebration – Open to all ages, the Carrollton Sun Ray Chinese School will lead activities celebrating Chinese culture on Feb. 18 at the Carrollton Public Library at Hebron and Josey. Join the fun.
