Holiday Shopping and Fun Starts with Your TollTag

A ride along NTTA roads is smoother than a sleigh ride, and it will deliver you in time to enjoy the area’s best holiday shopping and entertainment.

newswire_4_holidayDallas North Tollway
The Dallas North Tollway is lined with prime entertainment and shopping destinations. You’ll find the country’s tallest indoor Christmas tree at Galleria Dallas; simply exit the Tollway at Alpha Road/Galleria. Travel farther north to check out the Ice Palace at The Shops at Willow Bend (exit Park Boulevard), or spread holiday cheer at The Shops at Legacy  (exit Legacy Road).

Just north of the Dallas North Tollway/Sam Rayburn Tollway interchange in Frisco, you’ll find one of the largest synchronized holiday light shows in Texas at the free, family-friendly holiday celebration Christmas in the Square. Take the Main Street exit from the Dallas North Tollway to Frisco Square and Pizza Hut Park. Christmas in the Square runs Nov. 25 through Jan. 1 and features more than 175,000 lights set to holiday music in a one-of-a-kind choreographed light show. The same snow machines used by Disney create a “Winter Wonderland” on the sidewalks of Frisco Square – experience “snow flurries” every 15 minutes on Fridays and Saturdays throughout the event.

Sam Rayburn Tollway
Take the Sam Rayburn Tollway and exit Parkwood Boulevard to do some shopping and meet Santa at Stonebriar Mall. Continue west on the Sam Rayburn Tollway and exit Bass Pro Drive in Grapevine to find that must-have gift at Grapevine Mills. You can also check out the ICE! “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town” experience, which has two million pounds of hand-carved ice sculptures and slides through Jan. 1 at the Gaylord Texan Resort.  Santa also will be meeting and greeting families at Vista Ridge Mall, northwest of the Sam Rayburn Tollway/Interstate 35E interchange in Lewisville.

President George Bush Turnpike
If you plan to take the family out to Holiday in the Park at Six Flags through Jan. 2, the President George Bush Turnpike will take you directly to I-30, just minutes from the exit toward Six Flags Over Texas.

On the east side of the Metroplex, take the Bush Turnpike to the State Highway 78 exit in Garland for some festive holiday fun. Christmas on the Square (Dec. 1) features Santa and special guests lighting the enormous tree that adorns the downtown Garland square. Festivities will include snow tubing hills, snowman building, pictures with Santa, holiday foods and children’s train rides. Or head over to Firewheel Town Center to sip hot cocoa at the outdoor shopping destination.

Chisholm Trail Parkway
Take the Chisholm Trail Parkway to downtown Fort Worth for an array of holiday shows at Bass Performance Hall. Children and adults will delight at Texas Ballet Theater’s traditional performance of “The Nutcracker,” running all month.  You can also enjoy a showing of “A Christmas Carol” in December at the Plaza Theatre Company in Cleburne.
