More Satisfying Than Popping Bubble Wrap

More Satisfying Than Popping Bubble Wrap

Can fresh asphalt be as invigorating as fall air? You bet! Especially if you drive the Dallas North Tollway and the President George Bush Turnpike. Keep reading for details of where you can experience the joy of crisp breezes while cruising atop brand new pavement.

Dallas North Tollway between Interstate 635 and Downtown Dallas
Workers will soon finish spreading new asphalt, installing a median barrier and striping the northbound lanes of the tollway between Lovers Lane and Harvest Hill Road. In October, weather permitting, they will spend weekends resurfacing other lanes between downtown Dallas and Interstate 635. We’ll need to close various lanes and ramps while they’re working to keep everyone safe. We will post detailed closure information on NTTA.org  once the work schedule is confirmed.

Crews working near Lemmon Avenue are getting close to finishing installation of new median barriers. Weather permitting, they’ll wrap up their work by the end of the month.

We’re also improving the tollway’s entrance and exit ramps and some frontage roads south of I-635. Right now, crews are focusing on the northbound exit ramp to Northwest Highway and the frontage road (Lomo Alto Drive).

President George Bush Turnpike
If weather permits, an additional lane in each direction will open this fall for the eight-mile stretch of the Bush Turnpike between State Highway 78 and U.S. 75. Crews are finishing up lane striping now. When we open the new lanes, please continue watching out for work crews. They’ll be cleaning up from construction as you take to the new pavement.

Thank you for your patience as we continue working to improve the Dallas North Tollway and the President George Bush Turnpike.
