Run, Don’t Crawl, Into Fall

Vibrantly colored trees, festive pumpkins and fun community gatherings are starting to sprout around the Metroplex, and we have your free inside scoop to join the fun.

  • City of Plano Public Safety PULLooza – Where can you watch teams of 12 try to win a tug-of-war with a 72,000-pound fire truck? The same place first responders, NTTA’s Roadside Safety Services team and others will share information about keeping families safe. (Hint: don’t try to pull a fire truck!) The public safety fair is free and open to everyone. Teams in the fire-truck pull pay an entry fee that goes toward Special Olympics. Mark your calendar for Oct. 14, and click here to learn more.
  • City of Lewisville Rocktober Concert Series – This free concert series takes place Tuesday nights in October from 6:30-8 p.m. in Wayne Ferguson Plaza. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs. Food, beer and wine will be available for purchase. Well-behaved pets on leashes are allowed at all shows. Click for more details.
  • 32nd Annual Sachse Fallfest – This free event features more than 100 arts and crafts vendors, food vendors, contests, local musicians and games for children, teens and adults throughout the day. Join the fun Oct. 28.
