Run or Stay Planted?

Run or Stay Planted?

Does a 5K spur you to action – or is digging around in the dirt a little more your speed? Maybe you prefer relaxing under the stars to the sounds of a live band. Whatever your hobby, you can find something to match your pace in North Texas. Here’s a sample of what the region offers:

  • Grand Prairie: Get Fit Mayor’s No Frills 5K –Lace up for this fifth annual race April 7. Located at the Grand Prairie Farmers Market, the event is followed by a community health fair. This is a fun “no frills” run with no race numbers and no cost (except for optional shirt – $5 for kids and $10 for adults). Click for more details.
  • Denton: Nature Series – Top 100 Plants for North Texas – North Texans love new neighbors, but when it comes to plants, natives fare best in our climate. On April 7, learn how to create a lush and vibrant landscape with the “Top 100” best native and adapted plants, ideal for North Texas. Guests will also learn proper soil preparation, proper planting and how to choose the right plant for the right place. The program is free, but registration is required. Plan today; plant tomorrow.
  • Irving: Concert Series – Enjoy “Vintage Vibes” with live music performances inspired by the sounds of yesterday April 6, 13 and 20. Concerts will be from 7 to 8:45 p.m. and will feature bands from across the state. Parking and admission are free, and gourmet food trucks will be onsite at all shows.
