Feel The Need, The Need to Heed (Speed Limits)

Project Delivery_DNT Speed Limit (road marker)Construction on Dallas North Tollway is underway between Sam Rayburn Tollway and I-635. Safety on NTTA roadways is a top priority, so lower speed limits in these areas are in effect. Between Belt Line Road and Frankford Road the speed limit on DNT is 55 mph and between SRT and Frankford Road the speed limit is now 60 mph.

Signage throughout these areas has been updated to reflect the speed limit change. To further emphasize the importance of reducing driving speed, NTTA has painted pavement markers at various intervals. Drivers will see additional speed limit signage on overhead signs and road buttons have also been added between Frankford Road and Keller Springs Road. These buttons have been placed as an additional safety measure to alert drivers who veer outside of their lane.

During construction, conditions change and the route you take daily may differ. You can also plan for potential delays by checking lane closures and Twitter before getting on your way.

NTTA posts daily lane and ramp closures online at ProgressNTTA.org and NTTA.org.  If you happen to be on Twitter, did you know that @TollTagTidbits tweet traffic impacts throughout the day?

We’re doing our part to keep you aware of what’s happening on the roads, do your part and heed the rules.
