Those Summer Nights

Tell Me More, Tell Me More … About What’s Happening on NTTA Roads!

We’re hopelessly devoted to making our roads better for you, so construction work is heating up on the Sam Rayburn Tollway and the President George Bush Turnpike.

Here’s what we’re doing to make your commute better:

Sam Rayburn Tollway

We’re adding a lane to both sides of the Sam Rayburn Tollway to help traffic flow better. Crews have been working on the road above local streets between Carrollton and Frisco, and now they’re moving on to other sections of the road.

Soon, they will demolish the concrete barriers on the sides of the toll road west of Interstate 35E and around Preston Road. Removing these concrete barriers will give us room to build the new lanes. We’ve already set up temporary barriers so this work can be done safely.

This kind of demolition requires closing the roads directly below the bridge while the work is happening. We will schedule those closures for overnight hours during the week.

We will announce any closures needed for this work on social media, and we’ll post information on NTTA.org and ProgressNTTA.org.

President George Bush Turnpike

Crews are continuing work to add east- and westbound lanes on President George Bush Turnpike between Frankford Road and I-35E. If weather permits, the new lanes on this section of turnpike will open late this year.

We appreciate your patience during our ongoing work to improve your commute.
