Travel Around the World Without Leaving North Texas

Bypass airport lines, expensive flights and inconveniences of overseas travel by letting international experiences come to you. Whether it’s an international folk art market, listening (or playing) bluegrass music, the world is in your backyard when you live in our thriving region.

  • Arlington: International Folk Art Market – For the second year in a row, this unique market will be on the University of Texas at Arlington campus June 14-16. More than 40 master folk artists from 30 different countries, including Italy, Ghana, Uzbekistan, Nigeria, Ukraine, South Sudan, Myanmar and Peru, will exhibit and sell handmade goods. There will also be internationally inspired food and entertainment. Mark your calendar and get cultured.
  • Wylie: Bluegrass on Ballard – World-class bluegrass bands will hit the stage in shady Olde City Park June 30. In addition to the music, the free event features a car show with more than 200 cars, 100-plus food vendors, art, crafts, pony rides and a chili cook-off. Musicians of any skill level are invited to bring their instruments and jam with the pros. Fine-tune your instrument and click here.
  • Fort Worth: 2018 Movie Nights in Sundance Square Plaza – The summer movie series begins June 7 and will run through July 12 on Thursday evenings in the plaza. The countdown of classic movies dates back to the 1960s and lead up to a 2018 current release. All shows begin at 7:30 p.m., and moviegoers are invited to bring blankets or chairs for seating. Be dazzled by the stars.
