Full Closure of Southwest-bound Sam Rayburn Tollway at Interstate 35E Scheduled

LEWISVILLE, Texas — As work continues on four new direct-connector ramps at the Sam Rayburn Tollway/Interstate 35E interchange, the following closures will be in place Friday,
Sept. 9, through Monday, Sept. 12:

  • All lanes of southwest-bound Sam Rayburn Tollway between I-35E and MacArthur Boulevard will be closed continuously from 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9 until 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 12. While the road is closed, traffic will take the exit ramp to northbound I-35E, continue west on State Highway 121 (SRT frontage road) and re-enter the SRT at MacArthur Boulevard.
  •  The northbound I-35E ramp to southwest-bound SRT direct-connector ramp will be closed intermittently from 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9 until 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 12.
  • Various lanes of southbound I-35E will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. Friday, Sept. 9, through Monday, Sept. 12.

Motorists should expect delays while this work is performed.

This work is related to the 35Express project, the $1.4 billion expansion of I-35E between U.S. Highway 380 in Denton County and I-635 in Dallas County.

All closures are subject to weather conditions and may be postponed, if necessary.
