Why Are You Hibernating This Winter?

As temperatures continue to drop, indoor destinations are heating up. Fortunately for North Texans, one of the nation’s largest entertainment corridors is located right in our backyard.

If you want to break a sweat, take a stroll and enjoy a sunset or get soaked while riding in water tubes, we have a one-stop shop for you. EpicCentral, a 172-acre park located off the President George Bush Turnpike in Grand Prairie, is home to Epic’s Indoor Waterpark, The Summit active adult center, The Epic recreation center and Playgrand Adventures, an ADA-accessible playground for people of all ages and abilities. Park amenities include five lakes, a grand lawn with an amphitheater, a boardwalk, pad sites for future retail and plenty of open space for gatherings.

In addition to being singled out for recognition by the World Waterpark Association, Epic Waters was selected for the Travel Channel’s “8 Most Incredible Indoor Waterparks” list, USA Today’s “10 Best Dallas Waterparks” and the Dallas Observer’s “Best of Dallas 2018 Critic’s Pick.” In the next few years, EpicCentral will welcome hotels, restaurants and retail along the lake’s boardwalk.

Elsewhere on the President George Bush Turnpike, six new major retail centers are under construction or have recently opened, bringing more than 50 new restaurants and retail stores to Grand Prairie, including North Texas’ second IKEA.

We’ll continue spotlighting all the fun-filled activities that pop-up along NTTA’s corridors. Stay tuned!
