New Ramp Design Sorts Traffic by Destination

New Ramp Design Sorts Traffic by Destination

The new southbound Dallas North Tollway entrance ramp from Park Boulevard has opened, and it offers substantial upgrades for your commute.

Drivers taking the ramp can choose between staying in the right lane to enter the tollway or moving to the left lane to branch onto a dedicated access ramp to President George Bush Turnpike. The new pattern separates traffic entering and exiting the tollway for smoother flow.

As you cruise along the tollway with the recently opened fourth lane in each direction between the Bush Turnpike and the Sam Rayburn Tollway, be aware that construction crews are still working on other improvements, including adding new pavement lane stripes.

Dallas North Tollway between Interstate 635 and Downtown Dallas

Crews continue to replace the median barrier separating north- and southbound traffic on the southern end of the Dallas North Tollway, south of Interstate 635. Construction crews have finished installing the new median between Forest Lane and Walnut Hill Lane and are working to finish the installation between Northwest Highway and Lovers Lane.

Removal of the existing median barrier between Walnut Hill Lane and Northwest Highway also is underway.

Most of this construction work is happening during off-peak hours – at night and on weekends. Various lane and ramp closures are needed to safely perform this work.

We will continue to announce the closures on our social media channels, and information will also be posted on ProgressNTTA.org.

Coming Soon: the 360 Tollway!

Construction crews for the Texas Department of Transportation are building the 360 Tollway between Camp Wisdom/Sublett roads in the Grand Prairie/Arlington area and U.S. 287 in Mansfield.

In February, westbound traffic on Camp Wisdom/Sublett roads was diverted onto the new bridge crossing over the future toll road. Eastbound traffic had already been shifted onto the new bridge.

When the 9.7-mile toll road opens this spring, you won’t have to stop for toll booths, because it will feature cashless tolling. Drivers with a TollTag receive discounted tolls and other benefits. Those without a TollTag will be billed at a higher toll rate.

If you don’t already have a TollTag, get one today to grab the best price for convenient and reliable travel.
