Sam Rayburn Tollway Fourth Lane Project Nears Completion This Year

As we enter the final year of construction to add a new lane in each direction of the Sam Rayburn Tollway (which spans 26 miles from Coppell to McKinney), we wanted to share our progress and a look ahead.

The most time-intensive labor of this project is now nearly complete – widening the many bridges between Denton Tap Rd. in Coppell and Coit Rd. in Plano. The remaining bridge widening(at Parkwood Blvd. and Preston Rd. in Plano) is scheduled for spring. To help the flow of traffic in the area, work continues on the ramp to separate incoming and exiting traffic between DNT and Preston.

Lane closures will be needed to complete this work, so be sure to follow NTTA on Twitter @NTTATravelAlert or NTTA.org for details on potential impacts to your commute.

Thank you for your patience as we work to complete this project, which will bring more mobility and capacity to North Texas.
